Hawaiian Tropical Honey - A Culinary Treasure of the Big Island

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

A unique combination of geography, natural irrigation and atmospheric conditions creates a habitat on the Big Island of Hawaii ideal for the cultivation of raw honey. Beekeepers have harvested excellent honey from the islands for some time, with nearly a million pounds of honey coming from the area known as the Puako Forest annually. But in recent years, particular attention to selection of the raw honey results in a product that is literally unrivalled in its purity, texture and overall taste.

For some, it may be enough that this tropical honey comes only from a small section of a very special part of the world. That alone would separate it, in quality and taste, from much of the honey produced around the globe. But beginning with an exquisite raw honey just may not be sufficient to get this special condiment to those who appreciate its organic purity. Something else is necessary - meticulous attention to detail during the entire post-harvest process.

Harvesting Kiawe honey involves timing, a factor critical in most honey processes. Raw honey taken too early may ferment in the jar, but if it is taken too late it crystallizes in the comb. If the honey is handpicked at just the correct time, and put into containers correctly, it will manifest a superior white, smooth texture in just a few days.

Taking the combs at just the right moment would be enough to separate the final product from other honey. Yet there is one more step to consider, or in this case, a step to leave out. Raw Kiawe honey is a living food. Experienced producers know that cold-bottling honey retains its wonderful texture and preserves healthy, natural enzymes. While leaving heat out of the process produces an ideal tropical honey, the viscosity (thickness) does slow down processing, again contributing to the rarity of the finished product.

Connoisseurs know there are some excellent raw honey sources around the world, and that fine honey is available on every continent. But if you are looking for the best in unique Hawaiian Gifts this holiday season a growing number of aficionados consider Kiawe tropical honey from the Big Island of Hawaii to be a natural treasure with few, if any, culinary peers.

Being Realistic About Income Potential

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

A lot of people wish to do business on the internet because they have seen the signs or late night infomercials touting that anyone with an extra 30 minutes a day can make $20,000 a month. Most people find out in short order that is very near impossible and bitterly give up. This is because their expectations were too high, unrealistic and quite possibly they were fed a boatload of crap.

If that same person was told that they could learn how to make enough extra cash to pay off an additional bill or too, a very achievable goal for most people, then they would have been elated with the results and not felt ripped off. Now to be perfectly honest, there are ways to make a lot of money on the internet, and there are people who are doing extremely well, but most of them have spent some time learning what works and what doesn’t. Just like anywhere else, there is a learning curve to doing business on the internet. There are also a couple questions that you need to ask yourself so that you can be realistic about the income potential of your next internet venture.

1.
How many hours are you committed to putting in?: This is one of the first questions that you should ask yourself. If you want to earn the big bucks, then you will have to be willing to put in the time.

2.
Is there a market for what you are trying to sell?. If you are trying to sell homemade shoes for raccoons, you might have a problem moving merchandise. Instead find a piece of hungry market and sell your wares to them.

3.
How much money do you have to get your project off the ground?. There are some promotions that you can do for free to get your business off the ground. However, there will be some costs that are unavoidable, for instance, the purchase of a domain name and hosting. You will also have to eventually pay for some type of advertising or for some outsourced work. Take a realistic look at your budget when you are considering how much money you can potentially make.

4.
Is your niche too competitive?: If you are looking to break into a the highly competitive market of online mortgage lending, then you might have some trouble generating leads. So to think that you are going to make a lot of money targeting this niche might be unrealistic unless you have a big budget.

5.
How much experience do you have?. Because internet marketing success hinges so much on experience it is not very likely that you will begin earning thousands of dollars your first week. So consider your experience and factor in your learning curve before you start counting your millions. Give yourself a little time to get acclimated.

It is possible to earn a good amount of money using the internet. However, your experience level, your budget, the competitiveness of your niche will all be factors in how much money you can realistically expect to make. So the next time you hear about the possibility of earning $20,000 with only 30 minutes worth of work, consider the above factors. The old adage rings true “If it looks too good to be true, it probably is”.

Rise and Fall

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

The mystique of a prehistoric advanced society has mystified the metaphysically inclined and perplexed academics for a score of centuries. In the modern Info-Age, New Age & metaphysical book-store enthusiasts can now enjoy a large selection of publications alluding to the mystery of Atlantis, both non-fiction and fantasy and science fiction novels.

There are more versions of what the nature of this realm was like and where it was located and how the wisdom of the ancients could be found than practically any other tale of primordial people. The legend of a Utopian culture which was destroyed in a cataclysm has lived on precisely because it explains many mysteries to the modern mind.

Prolific author Edgar Cayce described the island as a large land mass, rivaling the dimensions of Greenland. According to the medium’s complete account, the people of Atlantis had mastered supernatural telepathic qualities and tools, and gave rise to the peculiarly similar pyramid building cultures of the founders of Western Civilization and the pre-Columbian Americans. The theme is often related with reincarnation past lives stories as well as magic, and is frequently alluded to in writings about Golden Dawn predictions of Galactic alignment from the Mayan Calendar prophesy of world changes on December 21, 2012.

Socrates’ student, Plato, first began to write of a forgotten Paradise, that he named Atlantis, during the height of his own Athenian civilization. Plato claimed the lost Island had been in the Atlantic Ocean and had perished more than one hundred centuries earlier.

Hypotheses regarding the position of Atlantis stretch from the Pacific Ocean to the Carribbean, although, naturally the likeliest candidates that are European islands, especially the Azores and Malta.

It might never be certain the true story, but the literature seems to indicate: our species has achieved high levels of advancement in the distant past and the cycle of rise and decimation, maybe over and again, in the forgotten recesses of what we habitually think of as the origin of culture.

How often is there a general election in Britain?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

General elections are held at least every five years. However not all Parliaments run for the whole five years, and a general election may be held before this period is up. In the event of a government having a small majority the election may well take place much earlier. For example, the general election of February 1974 resulted in a minority Labour government. The then Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, therefore called another election in October 1974, which resulted in Labour increasing its representation to just above 50% of the number of seats. Despite its small overall majority, the Labour government then remained in power for four-and-a-half years, finally calling an election in May 1979.

The last General Election was held on 5 May 2005.

In between general elections, by-elections are held as necessary to elect a new Member of Parliament to an individual constituency.

What is the connection between liberty and privacy?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Liberty is the essential heart of freedom. Liberty means being able to choose one’s own actions, without intrusion by government. Every law that restricts your movement, your actions or your words is one that restricts your liberty.

Privacy is the notion that the government will not intrude upon actions that you intend to be private. For instance, intercepting someones mail violates their privacy, as it is expected that only the recipient of the mail will read it.

Every infringement upon privacy can therefore potentially result in a infringement of liberty. For example, a wiretap could lead to an arrest.

People have a right to privacy, that is, they have a right to expect that the government will do as little as necessary to intrude upon their rights. This right is expressly provided for in the bill of rights. These rules govern due process. This is why the police must obtain a warrant to do a search

Are there any downs to neutering a cat?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Neutering your cat is an excellent thing to do. However, you asked for possible down-sides, so I’ll give you the list — It’s short!

1) Your cat may be more prone to obesity, especially if it’s an older cat when it’s neutered.
2) Your cat may have a bit less energy after it has been neutered. This is typically considered good, because it means it’s less likely to run out in the street or something and get hurt!
3) There’s a very, VERY slight chance of a problem with the operation, or infection afterward. Just be sure to keep him/her inside as long as the vet recommends

Friday, September 28th, 2007

You may be thinking your employees need additional training and you want to provide it for them through a learning management system But how much have you done to help your employees learn on a daily basis? If you do not have manuals and the like around the office that your employees can use on an as needed basis then you are cutting into your employees’ learning capacity. The most important thing, however, is that the employees receive the training they need and that the company continues to be profitable. All of this is possible with learning management systems.

Live on After You are Gone

Friday, September 28th, 2007

None of us like to think about our death, or at least most folks do not. There is just something strange about thinking about no longer existing while the rest of the world continues on. However, thinking about death is actually something important for most people. It allows them to decide how to leave things when they are gone. For example, who they will leave their homes, money, and belongings to. Yet, many people think about leaving their organs to others. Organ donation is actually something very important that all people should consider. Many never do, but thankfully it is on the minds of some and that is why so many people receive organ donation services each year. It is amazing for someone to cease to exist, yet his or her heart, eyes, skin, kidneys, lungs, liver, or other organs live on in someone else. It is an organ donation fact that many people are waiting for organ donations that never receive them simply because not enough people are donating. So, consider becoming an organ donor because you will not have any need for your organs and you could positively affect the lives of many others.
